Rituals to be followed:
– After taking a bath, visit temple. Offer Water, Milk and Bel patra on Shivling.
– Do Shiv Aarti in the evening. Light a pure ghee diya and do the aarti.

What can you eat during Sawan somwar vrat :
During the day:
– Milk
– Fruits
– Fruit juice
– Tea
– Coffee
– Nuts, Dates and Raisins

 

In the evening:
– Regular meal prepared without Garlic and Onion.

 

What not to eat/drink during Sawan somwar vrat :
– Garlic
– Onion
– Eggs
– All Non-vegetarian food
– Alcohol consumption

Scientifically speaking, consumption of Leafy vegetables and Brinjals should also be avoided during this month as these are infested with germs and insects during monsoon.

 

You do not need to essentially eat meal prepared from Sabudana or Kuttu or Singhare ka atta during Sawan. You can eat regular everyday meal items in the evening.

    Can I eat Kuttu ka atta in regular Monday fast? I fast on every Monday.
