Question – Why do we celebrate Shaheed Diwas?
Answer – On March 23, 1931, during the British Raj Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Hari Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar were hanged by the British rulers for their alleged involvement in the killing of John Saunders. The day is observed as Shaheed Diwas or Martyr’s Day. The trio of freedom fighters sacrificed their lives for the Independence of India. On this Martyr’s Day, India pays homage to the sacrifice of its brave sons.
