400 RSS Members threatens to resign in Goa
400 volunteers of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh announced that they were resigning in protest against the sacking of chief Subhash Velingkar. The event was reported on Wednesday evening after several leaders of the state Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, met at a school complex near Panaji, Goa for over 6 hours to discuss the removal of Mr. Velingkar.
A leader of the state unit said after the meeting “All office bearers from the district units, sub-district units and shakhas along with hundreds of others have decided to quit the RSS until Velingkar Sir is reinstated.”
Mr. Velingkar on Monday warned that BJP could lose next year’s election in Goa.
Manmohan Vaidya, a senior RSS Leader said, “He has been relieved from his responsibilities. He wanted to get into some political activity. Being a Sangh leader he can’t do that”.
His supporters see a BJP hand in his removal. “RSS is a parent body. Goa BJP cannot dictate terms to the RSS,” said a senior RSS leader Jayant Leleeven as volunteers shouted “Shame, Shame.”
