Remember the 5-year-old Omran Dangneesh, who was rescued while he was injured and bewildered after an airstrike in Aleppo last month? Whose video took us back and made us wonder the horror of Syria’s civil war? Alex has called upon a deeper sense of responsibility and shared Humanity in his letter to US President Obama.
We may have forgotten such horrors in our lives but this 6-year-old from New York has not. Alex has called upon a deeper sense of responsibility and shared Humanity in his letter to President Obama, where he wrote, “Remember the boy who was picked up by the ambulance in Syria? Can you please go get him and bring him to our home?”
“We will give him a family, and he will be our brother.”
Obama was so moved by the letter that he read it aloud at the United Nations Summit earlier this week.
He even posted the video on his Facebook portal which has been shared more than 150,000 times and watched by 8 million people and counting.
