Despite having things in their own hands, India faced bitter disappointment in their concluding group A game, losing to Bahrain 1-0 to not only finish the match having been sent packing from the Asian Cup but also right at the bottom of the group. What had started off so perfectly for India, ended in tainted style for them after a much maligned and irresponsible showing in the crunch tie saw them play their last match of the 2019 edition of the tournament from the verge of making it into the round of 16.
