Ask Dhoni to remove Army insignia from gloves – ICC General Manager, Claire Furlong said that the BCCI has been asked to get the symbol of “Balidan Badge” removed from Dhoni’s gloves.
The pictures of MS Dhoni’s gloves with a “Balidan Badge” went viral on social media and within no time fans started showing their love and respect towards their favorite former India cricket captain, M.S Dhoni.

Balidan Badge is a different type of insignia of the Special Forces, which is a part of Parachute Regiment. It has a commando dagger pointed downwards, with two wings attached from the blade and a scroll in which “Balidan” is writing in Devanagari. Only Paramilitary Commandos are allowed to wear the Balidan Badge.

In 2011, Dhoni was given an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel. And in 2005, he received training in Agra with the para regiment for a brief period. During the course of his training, Dhoni also did five parachute jumps.
Dhoni’s love for the army is well known and he has often expressed his desire of joining the forces.

The “Balidan Badge” or the Army insignia was observed on Dhoni’s gloves in India’s first world cup match on 5th June 2019.

As per ICC regulations, “The ICC equipment and clothing regulations do not permit the display of anything relate to political, religious or racial activities or causes during an international match.”
More than a thousand of people have shown their love towards M.S Dhoni. One of his fans tweeted: “Salute & respect to MS Dhoni who printed insignia of ‘Balidan’ on his wicket keeping gloves.”

His another fan tweeted: “This man shows his love for the nation and army. A Regimental Dragger (BALIDAN) of Indian Army Para Special Force on MS Dhoni Gloves. #IndianArmy #Balidan.”
ICC said: “The equipment and clothing regulations OF ICC do not permit the display of messages that relate with political, religious or racial activities or causes during an international match.”
Till now, M.S Dhoni has not given any statement on the issue.
