Here are Aus vs India T20 series highlights. India had a disappointing start to the tour of Australia after they lost the ODI series but came back strong and grabbed straight wins in the final one day match as well as the T20I series that followed later. Aus vs India T20 series highlights – 1st T20I

India defeated Australia by 11 runs in the first T20I in Canberra. India managed to score 161/7 in 20 overs after KL Rahul notched up a half-century while Ravindra Jadeja smashed an unbeaten 44 off 23 balls. Moises Henriques scalped a three-for in 4 overs giving away just 22 runs.

In reply, Australia started the chase well as D Arcy Short and captain Aaron Finch stitched a stand of 56 runs before Finch departed for 35. Short scored 34 before eventually getting dismissed. For India, it was T Natarajan and Yuzvendra Chahal who bagged three wickets each and India restricted Australia to 150/7 in 20 overs to win the match. Chahal was brought in as a concussion substitute for Jadeja and was later adjudged Man of the Match for his performance.

The two teams then traveled to Sydney for the second and third T20I and India sealed the series in this match. Australia rested Aaron Finch and Matthew Wade was given the captain’s band to lead the series. The home side batted first and posted a big score of 194/5 in 20 overs, courtesy of some brisk stroke-play from Wade who scored 58, and Steve Smith who chipped in with 46 off 38. Marcus Stoinis too scored some crucial and quick runs and remained unbeaten at 16 off 7. Natarajan once again produced a brilliant spell of fast bowling and returned with figures of 2/20 in 4 overs.

In reply, India began the proceedings well as KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan scored 56 runs for the first wicket. Dhawan notched up a half-century while Rahul scored 30. Skipper Virat Kohli too chipped in with some important runs as he struck 40 off 24. But the hero of this run-chase was Hardik Pandya whose unbeaten 22-ball 42 took India over the line by 6 wickets with a couple of balls to spare.

Australia settled with a consolation win in the series against India after beating them by 12 runs in the third encounter in Sydney. Chasing, 187, India were restricted to 174/7 in 20 overs. While skipper Virat Kohli notched up 85 runs off 61, no other batsman really got into the groove and scored runs.

Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Swepson bowled with a good economy. Maxwell returned with figures of 1/20 in 3 overs while Swepson picked up three wickets for 23 in 4 overs. Earlier, Australia rode on Matthew Wade’s another blistering knock of 80 runs and Maxwell’s half-century to put 186/5 in 20 overs on the board.

The Test series between the two teams is slated to begin on December 17 in Adelaide.
