Bahrain Prime minister has reportedly offered financial aid to Dana Majhi, who was in news last week, who had carried his wife’s body on a shoulder.
A source in Indian embassy said, “The PM responded to media reports on the episode and made an offer for humanitarian assistance. He has decided to make a contribution but we have not yet received official confirmation on the amount of money or when it will be made”.
On Sunday the Gulf Daily News reported, “His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa read about the man, who carried his wife’s body for 12 km after the hospital where she died allegedly failed to provide an ambulance for her to be sent back to their village… The Premier was so upset by the news that he felt he had to do something to help. He could not just stand by and do nothing about such suffering.”
