Bayern Munich for Bundesliga title – Bayern Munich have raced ever closer to the Bundesliga Title with their 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund last night. They now enjoy a margin of seven points at the top of the Bundesliga points table with only six matches to go.
The match seemed almost balanced with both teams enjoying almost equal possession of the ball and percentage of challenges. The game was poised on a knife-edge and both teams gave worrying moments to each other all throughout the first half.
Dortmund’s six-game winning streak gave them the confidence to race past the visitors in the first half with Erling Haaland almost opening the scoring for the home team within a few seconds of the commencement of the first half. Bayern’s Serge Gnabry’s attempted shot in the 20th minute was also blocked by BVB keeper.

After a balanced fight, Joshua Kimmich was finally able to open the scoring for the visitors in the 43rd minute with his brilliant chip shot which almost caressed the right hand of BVB keeper Roman Bürki before striking the upper right corner of the net. When asked about the goal in the post-match interview, Kimmich said that it was the most beautiful goal of his entire life and also an important one.
After the break, two changes were made in the home team with Emre Can and Jadon Sancho substituting for Thomas Delaney and Julian Brandt, respectively with the hopes of finding a comeback against the visitors. Haaland tried to equalize the scoreline with his 58th-minute attempt but it did not bear any fruit, with no penalty given despite the ball slightly grazing Boateng’s arm.
