India’s governing cricketing body has announced massive rewards for the Indian side which scripted a golden chapter in the country’s cricketing books in Australia. For their compelling test series and ODI series win in the country, one that re-affirmed the country’s status as one of the finest cricketing nations in the world, the Board Of Control For Cricket In India have decided to confer massive cash prizes across the squad, rewarding players, coaches and selectors alike for their laudable effort.

The Indian side had won the test series in Australia 2-1 to register their first ever test series win in the country in 71 years, continuing their supremacy to carry that momentum forward and conjunctly win the ODI series 2-1 as well. And for their massive and exquisite efforts to bring back such prestigious laurels back home, the BCCI have doled out Rs.15 lakhs per match to the playing XI and Rs. 7.5 lakhs per match to the reserve players. These awards given to the players are the equivalent to the match fee payable to each player per match.
The open-heartedness of the BCCI to appreciate the outstanding and meticulous performances of the squad will see the likes of Captain Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant get the massive amount with these set of players having featured in each and every test match of the four-match series.
Meanwhile, it’s not just the players that the BCCI has decided to reward. Well aware of the role of the coaches in ensuring that team strategy, tactics, playing conditions and line-ups are well asserted to, the BCCI have given each of the Indian coach Rs.25 lakhs per match, also the same amount that they are paid in match fees.
They also recognised the efforts of the selectors in ensuring that India’s line-up was never thin. They also ensured a strong combination throughout the series despite facing several challenges with injuries to Ashwin and Shaw and Rohit Sharma. They had also taken the call to drop Murali Vijay and KL Rahul and send Mayank Aggarwal in a move to reshuffle and solidify a floundering opening spot for the visitors.
Appreciating the pivotal role played by the selectors in this resounding series triumph, the BCCI also conferred Rs.20 lakhs to each of the five members of the selection committee.
