Here is all about BCCI Announces Indian Squad for Australia Series.
With an eye firmly set on getting together the right playing combination in place for the upcoming England ODI Cricket World Cup set to get underway from May 30, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the strongest possible playing squad for the T20 and ODI series against Australia slated to begin from February 24. The two nations who have one of the bitterest rivalries in international cricket will play a two-match T20 series before eventually moving onto the more important ODI format from March 5 that will see the two sides take on each other for a five-match series.
Making a return to the Indian setup are two of the biggest names in captain Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah with the two players set to take centre stage once again. After being rested recently to manage a congested period in cricket and to manage their hectic workload, the duo had been recalled by the BCCI for both the series. In other major news from the announcement, Dinesh Karthik has been let out in favour of Rishabh Pant as the BCCI try to nail down on the important second wicket-keeper role.

Karthik’s exclusion from the side is not surprising especially after he failed to make the most of the opportunities granted to him in New Zealand. His indifferent form saw him score just 38 runs in the ODI series and his showing in the T20 format was lacklustre as well as barring the final match which India saw itself end up on the wrong side of the result by the smallest of margins.
The 15 man squad also sees KL Rahul being included after recently being banned by the governing council for his crass comments on women which had seen him face a huge backlash with the country massively outraged by his comments. Markande who played in the two-match series against England Lions, one that India A won after wrapping up the second test match by an innings and 68 runs have also been called up to the Indian unit.
Meanwhile, pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and one of the standout performers against New Zealand sees himself get a much-needed rest after playing a nonstop three months of cricket that had seen him huff and puff endlessly. To ensure that he doesn’t endure any injuries, the selection committee has decided to keep him out of the T20 series and the first two ODIs. He’ll be back in the team for the remainder of the three matches in place of Kaul.
