Bhaichung Bhutia is a living legend for Indian Football, he has captained the side for more than 5 years and has represented India at the top level. He won countless trophies with some of them including Nehru Cup, LG Cup, AFC Challenge Cup and SAFF Championship.

Bhaichung now 42 years old started his football journey when he was only 16 and at 18 years he scored his first goal while wearing the blue jersey. Bhaichung deeply cares about the state of Indian football and is often seen holding meetings and conferences with the people in power. India used to be one of the best teams in Asia in 1950’s hoping to bring those days back Bhaichung started a brand of football academies called “Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools” , the idea was introduced to him by 2 IIT Aluminis who were crazy about football and wanted to bring about a change.

They realised that football needed to be involved since the school level, they realised if there was a football academy in every school surely India will be able to produce countless football heroes. Kunal and Anurag discussed this idea with the captain of the country and he was ever ready to help them and lift the level of Indian Football. Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) was first introduced in Ryan International School in Vasant Kunj. The curriculum was extensively examined, and a lot of feedback was taken to develop a clear understanding about the academy.

BBFS has more than 60 training academies today. The academy is highly rated by the AIFF and has several licensed coaches and staff. The academy trains students between the age of 5 and 17. According to the owner the academy has trained more than 10,000 students all over India till now.

They have also developed a plan “Lakshya” which is a well structured system for developing youth and grassroot of Indian football, the plan is a long term plan and will span 10 years. These kind of initiatives are very much required in our country as they can have a huge impact in bringing glory to the country in the future.
