  • She will be contesting against Bharatiya Janata Party MP Gopal Shetty, who was once regarded a BJP bastion.
  • Urmila joined the Congress party on March 27, 2019, in Delhi.
  • Mumbai’s Lok Sabha constituency is going to the polls on April 29, along with 17 others in the state’s fourth phase of elections.

Jaya Prada

Jaya Prada

  • Jaya Prada, a Veteran actress announced that she would contest the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 from Rampur Constituency.
  • She also mentioned that she is happy to contest election from Rampur and is a supporter of Narendra Modi.
  • Jaya will be contesting against Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan.

  • On 12 March 2019, West Bengal Chief Minister and president of Trinamool Congress party Mamata Banerjee announced that Nusrat would contest the upcoming general election from Basirhat constituency.

Prakash Raj

  • Prakash Raj announced on January 1, 2019, that he will enter politics, and will contest the 2019 general elections from Bengaluru Central as an independent candidate.
  • Raj says that though he is contesting as an independent candidate, Whitefield Rising [a citizens’ collective] is supporting him, many civil society groups are with him and many political parties are also offering their support.
  • The actor has been critical of Narendra Modi’s government.

Mimi Chakraborty

  • Mimi Chakraborty is an Indian actress famous in Bengali cinema who has joined politics recently.
  • Mamta Banerjee introduces her and now she will contest from Jadavpur, Kolkata for TMC party in lok sabha election 2019.

Ravi Kishan

  • Ravi Kishan joined Indian National Congress (INC) from Jaunpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh, and contested in 2014 general elections where he secured only 4.25 per cent of the total votes.
  • In February 2017, he left the Congress Party and joined Bhartiya Janata Party.
  • According to the sources, he is contesting in lok sabha 2019 but the BJP has not yet disclosed anything.

Dinesh Lal Yadav

  • Dinesh Yadav commonly known as Nirahua, has joined BJP in Lucknow on 27 March 2019 in the presence of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
  • He got Loksabha ticket by Bhartiya Janata Party on 3 April 2019 from Azamgarh. He will be contesting against Akhilesh Yadav (former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh).
