The Brazilian national team successfully won the 2022 World Cup qualifying event in the CONMEBOL zone.  Faced with Ecuador, Brazil managed to win with a score of 2-0.

Playing at the Estadio Beira-Rio, Brazil dominated from the start of the match.  The Selecao pounded the Ecuadorian defense since the referee blew the whistle to signal the start of the match.

But Ecudor did not panic with Brazil’s attacks. They defended so firmly that Brazil struggled to find the net even though they created a number of chances.

Ecuador also managed to reduce the tempo of Brazil’s attack for a long time.  So in the middle of the first half, the tempo of the match went a bit slow.

After 45 minutes ended, the position 0-0 still held.

In the second half, Brazil tried to increase the tempo of their attacks.  They again bombarded the visitors’ goal to score the first goal.

 In the second half, the two coaches made a number of substitutions.  Tite pulled off Fred and Gabriel Barbosa and was replaced by Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino. While in Ecuador, Eduar Preciado, Jhegson Mendez and Enner Valencia were withdrawn and replaced by Fidel Martinez, Jordy Caicedo and Michael Estrada.

In the rest of the second half, the game is still the same.  But Brazil is still difficult to penetrate the defense of Ecuador.

In injury time, Brazil received a penalty after Alexander Dominguez committed a foul in the penalty box.  Neymar who was appointed executioner failed to execute the penalty, but the referee asked the penalty to be repeated because Dominguez moved first.  In the second execution, Neymar did his job well so Brazil won 2-0.

Thanks to these additional points, the mighty Brazilian national team is at the top of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying standings with 15 points.  While Ecuador is stuck in third place with nine points.
