BRICS conference In Goa will begin today, where India will make efforts to revive the International community against Pakistan after the series of Cross-border attacks between India and Pakistan.
The assembly of Leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) will give the opportunity to India to highlight the threat from Pakistani terrorists.
PM Modi said that he was optimistic that “the BRICS will advance common agenda for peace and stability.” There will be two key meetings today; the First one with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where he will be talking about signing the number of agreements including on defense and the other one with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
China is open to Strong statements, but president Xi Jinping is unlikely to have much interest in casting Beijing’s alliance with Pakistan into doubt. The main concern of China would be how terrorism within Pakistan affects its plan to build a $46 billion trade corridor that runs through Pakistan to the Arabian Sea.
BRICS was formed with the aim of using its growing economic and political influence to Challenge western hegemony.
