It is always in the news all over when Bollywood meets Cricket! Yet another such kind of jodi after Yuvraj and Hazel tied the knot today, and they are Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge. While fans were expecting a wedding full of glamour and shimmer, the first pictures that out tell whole another story. Both Sagarika and Zaheer Khan have kept it simple, but are looking absolutely gorgeous!
- While Zaheer donned a white sherwani, Sagarika Ghatge wore a beautiful maroon traditional attire and a single heavy necklace. Her makeup was also a low key affair making her look extremely gorgeous!
- A source close to the family told the media about the wedding, he said, “It’s an intimate, homely affair. Other than their family members, Zaheer’s close cricketer friends like Yuvraj Singh, Ashish Nehra and Ajit Agarkar are also expected to be present. After the marriage, there will be a cocktail party at a five star hotel in the evening. The mehendi ceremony will take place on Sunday, followed by a grand reception on Monday evening”
- Talking about how it all began, Sagarika says, “It was weird that every time I met him, my friends would tease us for some reason. We would be cordial with each other and stick to the regular `Hi’ and `Hello’. But there were people, like my close friend, who thought we should be together even before we thought about it. And certainly it happened soon and we started going out together”
- Convincing their parents about marriage wasn’t much difficult for them, they said, as their parents are quite understanding and know it’s important to marry the right person instead of marrying someone from the same religion, Sagarika once said in an interview, and we cannot agree more!
- Keeping away both from Nikaah ceremony and Hindu Vivah, the couple opted for a simple court marriage followed by a grand reception which will happen on Monday.
