India takes on Sri Lanka in their second match of the ICC Champions Trophy at The Oval as they look to become the second team in the tournament to qualify for the semi-finals.Having routed Pakistan in their opening match the Indian teams are firm favorites going into this match.
Both teams come into the match with complete opposite form. India easily thrashed Pakistan by 124 runs in their previous match whereas Sri Lanka suffered a heavy 96 runs defeat at the hands of South Africa. The Sri Lankan team which was once revered in world cricket now look a pale contrast of their past sides. An already weak Sri Lankan batting line-up will be heavily hit by the absence of stand-in skipper Upul Tharanga who has been handed a two-match suspension for slow over rate and will also be without Chamara Kapugedara.The likely return of captain Angelo Mathews is though a ray of sunshine for the Sri Lankans.
The Indian team looked in high spirits during their training session on Wednesday.India look at have gotten the balance right and will not look to make any changes. Having won 14 of their last 17 matches and all of the last 5 played between the two countries the Indian team will be going into the match quietly confident of notching up another win.
