Congress Demands Severe Actions Against BJP. Find out why?
The Congress, last week moved to Election Commission demanding severe actions against BJP, alleging the BJP leaders namely Subramanian Swamy and Keshav Prasad Maurya had made the remarks in the name of Religion to seek votes.
UP’s BJP chief Keshav Prasad and BJP MP Subramanian Swamy had reportedly violated the code of conduct ahead of elections in the five states.
The congress party alleged that Maurya brought up the contentious issue of Ram temple last month and talked about its construction after assembly elections in UP. After that, MP Subramanian Swamy made remarks welcoming the statement of Mr Maurya.
The Party Said, “The statements made by Shri Maurya as well as Dr Subramanian Swamy is in utter defiance of the instructions issued by the Commission and amount to soliciting votes in the name of religion”. It added, “As such, the Commission may be pleased to take stern action against BJP and their leaders and be restrained from addressing any rally, public or corner meetings or hold conferences during the operation of MCC (model code of conduct)”.
