Cyclone Asani Live Tracking – Cyclone Asani has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm and moving at the speed of 25 kmph. However, it is expected to recurve and weaken in the subsequent 48 hours. It is about 680 km in the southeast direction of Puri and 580 km of Vishakhapatnam. North Andhra Pradesh and Odisha are likely to be most impacted by Cyclone Asani.

Cyclone Asani moving at the speed of 10 kmph has moved West-Northwestwards over West Central Bay of Bengal. It is about 570 km in the South-Southwest direction of Puri, 490 km South-Southwest of Gopalpur, and 300 km South of Vishakhapatnam. North Andhra Pradesh and Odisha are likely to be most impacted by Cyclone Asani. However, it is expected to recurve and weaken in the subsequent 24 hours.

– SCS ASANI lay centered at 2330 hrs IST, near lat 15.5°N & long 81.6°E, about 90 km south-southeast of Machilipatnam. It is very likely to move nearly northwestwards and reach Westcentral Bay of Bengal close to Andhra Pradesh coast by 11th morning.

– SCS ASANI near lat 15.2°N & long 82.2°E, 190km south of Kakinada. Likely to move nearly NWwards & reach WC BoB close to AP coast by 11th morning. Thereafter, it is very likely to recurve slowly NNEwards & emerge into WC & adjoining Northwest BoB off North AP & Odisha coasts.

– SCS ASANI lay centered at 1130 IST today about 210km SSE of KAKINADA, 310km SSW of Visakhapatnam, to reach close to Kakinada and Visakhapatnam coasts by 11th morning and move along Andhra Pradesh coast and weaken into a Cyclonic Storm by 11th morning

9th May – Rainfall likely in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

10th May – Heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

11th May – Light rainfall in a few places, heavy rainfall at isolated places in coastal Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal.

12th May – Light rainfall in a few places, heavy rainfall at isolated places in coastal Odisha and West Bengal.

Cyclone Asani: Wind Warnings

The wind may reach up to 120 kmph over West Central and South Bay of Bengal on 9th May. However, it will reach down 100 kmph and ultimately at 60kmph by 10th May.

The winds may continue at 60-70 kmph till 12th May in coastal areas of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal.

Sea condition to be very high to high in the next 48-72 hours in West Central and North West Bay of Bengal.

Fishermen are advised not to venture into South, West Central, and North West Bay of Bengal until 12th May.
