Danny Welbeck transfer signings – The Hornets are delighted to verify the signings of England forward, Danny Welbeck on a free transfer. The former Manchester United and Arsenal player has agreed on a permanent settlement with the Hornets and further bolsters Javi Gracia’s squad ahead of the start of the 2019/20 Premier League season.

Welbeck, 28, has scored 16 goals in forty-two of his appearances at the global stage with England. His last appearance with the Three Lions was in September. He represented England at the Euro 2012 and the World Cup 2014 and was also a part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad that reached the semi-finals at FIFA World Cup 2018 in France, in which England lost to Croatia.

Having come through Manchester United’s youth academy system, Welbeck scored on his league debut as a 17 year and 12 months old after which he went on to play 142 times for the Red Devils, achieving the Premier League and League Cup trophies. He moved to Arsenal for a rumored price of  £16m in 2014 and made 126 outings for the Gunners. This also includes starting the 2017 FA Cup final win over Chelsea, before leaving the Emirates Stadium at the end of the closing season.

Danny now joins the Hornets on a free transfer. He will be joining his former teammates, Ben Foster, Tom Cleverley, and the former Chelsea midfielder, Nathaniel Chalobah at Watford. Wellbeck is Watford’s third signing of the season, after the £5.5m defender, Craig Dawson, and the 19-year-old midfielder, Tom Dele-Bashiru. Watford was also hoping to bring in the young talented winger from Rennes, Ismalia Sarr but, the deal couldn’t be finalized.

Danny Welbeck told the media that he will try to perform ‘Better than Ever’ and will also try to use all the experience that he has gained about the league. Due to fitness problems, Danny will be missing his first game against Brighton on Saturday. Watford did their best and beat competition from Newcastle and Everton to get Danny’s signature. Javi knowing about the fitness issues with Welbeck still trusted him and backed him ahead of the 2019/20 season. The club lowered his salary and included bonuses so that he is able to add value to the team with his performance.
