Day Night Test Match News – India’s decision to play the day-night test match came after Sourav become the new BCCI president. Earlier, India was invited to play the pink ball test against Australia in the 2018 and 19 tour but India turned down the offer due to lack of practice with the pink ball. The pink ball was first seen in Eden Gardens in the 2016 CAB Super League final. BCCI also turned the Duleep Trophy as a pink ball test affair but the pink ball never spun nor did it have a reverse swing in it. Due to these concerns, Duleep Trophy again turned into a red ball cricket and now also, it is played with SG red ball.

Bangladesh also turned down the offer to play the pink ball test match against New Zealand. The BCB Board turned down the offer stating lack of practice with the pink ball. Now both the teams have agreed to play the pink ball test but they will have only two days to get used to the pink ball.  The second and the last test will begin on 22nd November 2019 while the first one will get over on 18th November 2019.

Day Night Test Match News – Russell Domingo said that the players were concerned about the time of preparation because it is just a two-day window between the first and the second test. One day will go in traveling from Indore to Kolkata.

Domingo will work with the pink ball and hopes that it will be an advantage to them. When Domingo coached South Africa they had a warm-up game between the pink ball test, but there was nothing like a two day time for the pink ball preparation. The focus here will remain on the first test. After the Indore test match gets over, they will try to get used to it as it is a wonderful opportunity for them to play with the pink ball under the lights. The pink ball will help both the teams.

A close contest is awaited at the Eden Gardens.
