Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport, highways and shipping announced on Sunday that a new access control highway will be constructed between Delhi and Jaipur.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 16,000 crore.
This new highway between Delhi and Jaipur will enable the commuters to cover the distance of 270 km between the two cities in just two hours. Reports also said that cameras will also be installed on NH-8 under intelligent transport system to keep watch on traffic rule violators.
The work on this highway will start from January 2017.
Mr. Gadkari laid a foundation for the improvement of three junctions on National Highway-8 (NH-8) in Gurgaon, costing Rs. 1,005 crore and said that the work will be completed in 15 months’ time instead of 30 months.
