Got just a day in Delhi? Don’t worry. There are plenty of places to visit in Delhi in one day.

Red Fort

visit Red Fort

Start your day at around 9am to reach Red fort by 10am. Spend around 1 hr 30 minutes there. (Monday closed)

Jama Masjid

visit Jama Masjid

Hop on to a cycle rickshaw from Red fort to reach Jama Masjid in about 10 minutes. Should take you about an hour there.

Chandni Chowk market

visit Chandni Chowk

Right from the exit gate of Jama Masjid, hop on to another cycle rickshaw and reach Chandni Chowk Market. Get down anywhere when you are in the middle of the market. Explore on your own. Be careful with your stuff as pick pocketing is very common. Plenty of scope of bargaining. Have lunch there. Some of the best places to eat in Chandni Chowk.

Raj Ghat

visit Raj Ghat

Hire a cab or auto rickshaw to reach Raj Ghat. Should take you about 25-30 minutes. You would need just about 30 minutes here.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib

visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib

Again the cab or rickshaw comes in handy. Reach Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. Should take you about an hour here. A very peaceful place.

Janpath (Connaught Place)

visit Janpath

Now whatever time is left in your hand, spend it at Janpath. Plenty of shops to buy knick knacks. Far too many shops for imitation jewellery, handicraft items, hand bags, casual clothes. Don’t give in to whatever the shopkeeper asks. You have plenty of scope to bargain here.

Time permitting, you can also visit Hanuman Temple (Money God temple) right across the Janpath. Its very crowded on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Time to get back to your home/hotel now. All this activity will leave you tired. Take a shower and fall on the bed. Have another day? Head to South Delhi. There are a few more places to visit in Delhi in one day.
