India’s first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle was designed and developed under the guidance of Dr. Abdul Kalam. He also played a major role in the development of ‘Prithvi’and ‘Agni’ missiles as also India’s Pokhran-II nuclear test. Dr. Kalam worked as Chief Executive on the Integrated Guided Missile Development program to develop launching a quiver of missiles instead of one at a time. Dr.Abdul Kalam later became Secretary of DRDO and also worked as Chief Scientific Adviser to the Prime Minister.

Dr. Abdul Kalam went on to become The President Of India in 2002 and served till 2007. He became the 11th President taking on from his predecessor Mr.K.R.Narayanan. Affectionately called the People’s President, he was loved by everyone.
