Dussehra in JNU takes new turn
While whole country was busy celebrating Dussehra and burning effigies of Evil Ravana, to signify the triumph of good over evil, Jawaharlal Nehru University on Tuesday celebrated it in a different way by burning effigies with 10 heads that included heads of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Baba Ramdev and even their own vice chancellor.
The Students belonging to NSUI, the student wing of Congress took this step breeding an outcry on social media once the pictures of burning effigies were uploaded.
The administration of the university is yet to react on the matter.
The NSUI spokesperson said that student took such actions as they were not happy with the Modi government that they had come up with anti-poor and anti-people policies and they were symbolically destroying the evil of the government’s policies.
The head of Sadhvi Pragya, Nathuram Godse, and Asaram Bapu were also there.
Sunny Dima, NSUI activist said, “The effigy-burning was to symbolize our dissatisfaction with the current government and to root out the evil from governance”.
The effigy was burnt at Saraswati Dhaba as a park of protest.
