Eden Hazard Real Madrid – Real Madrid won a well-contested match against Granada last weekend. Luka Modric tripled the lead at the half-hour mark and Real seemed to be in total control at their home. To everyone’s disbelief, Granada scored 2 quick goals, making the scoreline a lot more competitive at 3-2. This was a wake-up call for Real Madrid. Granada’s Darwin Machís got one back with 20 minutes left on the clock and then Domingos Duarte made it 3-2 to set up a tense final quarter of an hour.

Bernabeu controlled their breath, with the visitors showing what they got, the travelling fans made a lot of noise pushing their team to go-ahead for a leveller. “Yes, we can !” Granada’s fans shouted and it seemed like they could. On the 94 minutes mark, Madrid broke, James scored his first Madrid goal in two years, and the Bernabéu breathed again. Real Madrid started very well and arguably played the best first half of their season so far but, it didn’t take a long time for things to go south.

Zidane said that they were looking to keep a clean sheet in the game before the match but sadly that couldn’t be the case. But, he is still very proud of his team that they were able to successfully end the game. “For a team whose budget is 18 times smaller than Real Madrid, this performance was extraordinary, the team left the stadium with their head held high. No one can deny that we went down fighting,” said a very happy Diego Martínez after the game. Granada has been the surprise factor of the season so far after defeating Barcelona and impressing the audience once again. Granada sits second in the La Liga table as of now… How long will they stay there? That remains to be seen in the games to come ahead.
