Eman Ahmed, previously ‘world’s heaviest woman, loses 242 kgs in 2 months

 

Egyptian Eman Ahmed Abdulati, used to be heaviest woman in the world at 500 kg till some time back, is fast losing weight. After the weight loss procedure, she has lost approx. 242 kg. She is being treated by renowned bariatric surgeon Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala at Saifee Hospital in Mumbai. The expected weight loss was around 150 kgs. a year. The additional weight loss of 98 kgs took even the team of Doctors by surprise.

Dr Lakdawala, has been awarded ‘Man of the Year’ award for his contribution to the medical field.

Eman’s health is also improving along with the weight loss. Although her Lungs, fluid levels, Kidneys and Heart functions are all under control, she still suffers occasional seizures. Her right side still continues to be paralyzed.

Eman arrived in Mumbai in February this year weighing 490 kgs. Due to her weight she had not left her home in the last 20 years. As per the various tests done in US, her condition is due to a rare genetic defect called LEPR mutation. She is the 1st person in the world who has been detected this genetic defect.

Doctors are hopeful for further improvement and weight loss. Only time will tell how much she will be able to recover and lose (weight).
