The hosts are the favorites to win this year’s world cup. They have been sensational in this tournament till now. Even though they were beaten by Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Australia they bounced back when it mattered the most. Their wins against India and New Zealand have put them right in the front of the world cup 2019. England’s strength lies in their batting, they have won 3 back to back games because of the best opening start was provided by Jason Roy and Johnny Bairstow. England was in trouble when Roy was out of the squad due to his injury. James Vince didn’t use this opportunity well and England didn’t get the start which they wanted. But, once Roy was back, he was sensational. He has scored 3 back to back fifties after his comeback and they made the hosts look stronger for this title win.

Johnny Bairstow too has found his Midas touch once Roy was back. Bairstow looked fabulous in the must-win games against India, New Zealand and Australia. But he was a little injured in the last game. England fans will want their best opener to be fit for this title clash on Sunday. The middle-order too looks solid for England. They have Root who is the most dependable number 3 batsman and then the Skipper Eoin Morgan, who can attack the opposition well on his day. England also has the all-around skills of Ben Stokes who can really stoke the bowl. He can also bowl his quota of 10 overs can take some mind-blowing catches.

To finish the innings, England has Jos Buttler who is the best finisher for them. They also have the batting services of Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid who can put up some runs lower down the order. Then comes the bowlers. These bowlers are good with the new ball. Woakes, Archer, Wood, and Plunkett are the best bowlers that England have right now. These 4 bowlers had a good tournament so far and they will hope to continue their good form in the final match as well. England will look to win the toss and choose to bat first. They have a deep batting line up and their bowling is so good that they can defend any totals with ease.

The Kiwis are in the finals because of their bowlers who made it good after  Jadeja and Dhoni tried to steal the show. But, it was Matt Henry who bowled an awesome spell to bowl out India for 221 runs. New Zealand needs its batting to step up in this big final. Their openers aren’t getting runs which are expected of them. Guptill and Henry Nicholls need to give that start which New Zealand is looking out for. In their 1st match of the world cup against Sri Lanka, New Zealand had a brilliant opening stand which won the game by 10 wickets. The Kiwis need a similar effort from their openers. They also need runs form Ross Taylor. Ross is the boss of New Zealand’s batting unit. He batted well against India and took the Kiwis to a defendable score. Now, Taylor will have to continue that form so that the Blackcaps can win their maiden World Cup title.

Tom Latham is another man who has not been in his best form. He scored a scratchy fifty against England in that lost game but now needs to be good in that final. The Kiwis have relied too much on Kane Williamson. The skipper has been under pressure because of the failure of the other batsmen around him. But this modern-day great batsman has come up from those pressure situations every time and has delivered for his team. The bowling looked good for New Zealand. But they will have to keep that form going into the finals as well. Boult, Matt Henry, Mitch Santner, Lockie Ferguson, Jimmy Neesham, and De Grandhomme will have to do what they did to India some days ago.

England has beaten New Zealand earlier in the league match. That will surely play in the minds of these two teams when they will meet on Sunday at Lords.
