Charles Leclerc Grand Prix 2019 winner – Ferrari’s 21-year-old driver, Charles Leclerc won his 2nd successive Formula One race. He survived the pressure of Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday and became a first-time Grand Prix winner just last weekend in Belgium. While that victory would have undoubtedly been a special win at Monza in his first race, the Ferrari driver is claiming the Ferrari’s or how the racing fans call it Scuderia’s first Italian Grand Prix win since Fernando Alonso’s victory nine years ago has turned the 21-year-old into a national hero for the Italians.

For the majority of the race, it appeared as though Lewis Hamilton will once again deny Ferrari home glory. But once the English’s tires went off in the closing stages of the race, it was left to teammate Bottas to launch a late assault on Leclerc which turned out be unsuccessful. It really meant a lot to him said Leclerc in Italian, as he spoke from the iconic podium at Monza with a sea of red, as thousands of Ferrari fans were wearing that color chanting his name and waving the flags.

Charles Leclerc Grand Prix 2019 winner – Leclerc said that winning this race is 10 times more special than the one he won in Spa last weekend. He felt proud to wear Ferrari’s name and to bring glory to that name. Leclerc started the race from the pole position and was roared on by the passionate Ferrari Tifosi and he let out a joyful cry as he crossed the line 0.8 seconds ahead of Valtteri Bottas and 35.1 seconds before championship winner Lewis Hamilton.

“In the last two laps, I started to believe that I can edge out a win and I focused all my energy on the game and left all my emotions on the dashboard. I doubt if anyone can understand what I said,” said Leclerc with a laugh. He fist-pumped the air and stood at the cockpit as he completed the race.
