Chelsea Vs Manchester United
Facing a torrid time recently, one that has seen their season crumble owing to massive lapses throughout the side and system employed by the London based club, Chelsea faced another appalling defeat as the defending champions exited the tournament at the fifth round itself. Huge gaping holes at the back saw them concede two headers to abysmal individual blunders, goals that Chelsea had no response to with the other side of their team hardly putting in a decisive performance either.
The result leaves Chelsea’s season in tatters with them facing agonising defeats with each passing match and the displeasure to the recent run of performances being made apparent by the out roar of the supporters present at Stamford Bridge who spared no expense in blasting the manager and players. Chelsea’s manager Sarri finds himself under heavy heat with his tactics and immense rigidness to shift and change his style of play seeing Chelsea being put down far too often in the last two months.
Newport Vs Manchester City
Having done everything right in the first half to keep the score at 0-0, a displeasing piece of goal-keeping by the home side’s goal-keeper gave City the opener and helped them get into their groove in the encounter. Despite putting in immense fighting spirit, the blunder was too much for Newport to handle as City started clicking after the goal, getting underway to playing their attractive, fluid and quick brand of football, to put 4 past Newport in the second half and progress to the quarter-finals comfortably in the end.

Brighton Vs Derby
Having scored two goals in the first half, Brighton were pegged back by a reinvigorated Derby unit in the second who showed how far they’ve come under the able management of Frank Lampard this season. Making a real meal out of the clash, Derby scored with 20 minutes to go to keep snapping at Brighton’s heels who managed to close out a jittery few minutes and keep the premier league’s record from this round at 100%.
Bristol City Vs Wolverhampton
Having had one of the most enthralling runs in the marquee tournament as of now, having defeated Liverpool in the third round before a two-legged match in the fourth round saw them come out on top, Wolverhampton managed to get the solitary goal they ended as they travelled away in the fifth round. They defeated Bristol City 1-0 and continue to show why they have been such a revelation this season.
