Jacques Kallis is one of the greatest all-rounders of all time in international cricket. He is the only player in Test and ODI formats of the game, to have scored more than ten thousand runs and has taken more than 250 wickets. He is one of the fastest cricketers to score 10,000 ODI runs. Featuring in 328 ODI matches for the Proteas and batting in 314 innings, he has scored a massive 11,579 runs at a batting average of 44.36 and a strike rate of 72.89 while scoring 86 fifties and 17 centuries. He took merely 272 innings to reach the landmark 10,000 runs in ODI cricket.

Ricky Ponting, one of the greatest skippers of all time and the man responsible for taking Australian cricket to the pinnacle in his time, took 6 innings less than Kallis to reach the landmark 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. He achieved the feat in 266 innings on March 24, 2007, while playing against South Africa in a World Cup match in 2007 which Australia went on to win for the third consecutive time. In his 375 ODI matches that he has played for his country, he has batted in 365 of them and has scored a mammoth 13,704 runs in ODI cricket with a batting average of 42.04 while scoring 82 fifties and 30 centuries.

Another gem of a player, and the most successful Indian skipper after MS Dhoni, ‘Dada’ as he is fondly remembered, scored 10,000 ODI runs in just 263 innings on August 3, 2005, while playing against West Indies at Dambulla. He has played 311 ODI matches for India, in which he scored 11,363 runs while batting in 300 innings at a batting average of 40.73. He scored 1122 fours and 190 sixes in his ODI career and has 72 fifties and 22 centuries under his belt in ODI cricket.

He achieved this feat in just 259 innings on March 31, 2001, while playing against Australia in Indore. He has 18,426 ODI runs to his name in 452 matches out of which he batted in 452 innings at a batting average of 44.83 while smashing 49 centuries and 96 half-centuries.

In just 205 innings, the ‘Run Machine’ reached the landmark 10,000 ODI runs against West Indies on October 24, 2018, in Visakhapatnam. He is perhaps the only player in modern-day cricket who is destined to break all records there are. The Indian Skipper has scored 11,867 runs in ODI cricket in the 239 innings that he has batted in at a massive average of 59.34. He already has 43 ODI centuries and 58 half-centuries to his name with a lot of years still left in his career. Kohli is currently ranked number 1 in ICC ODI batsmen rankings.
