SU-30 MKI
SU-30 MKI

  • The Sukhoi Su-30MKI is a twinjet multirole air superiority fighter capable of carrying a variety of medium-range guided air to air missiles with active radar or Infra-red homing close range missiles.
  • This fighter jet can carry One X 30mm GSH gun along with 8000 kg external armament. It has a max speed of 2500 km/hr.
  • It is developed by Russia’s Sukhoi and is built under licence by India’s Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the IAF.
  • The aircraft is tailor-made for Indian specifications and integrates Indian avionics and systems.
  • The aircraft has a fly-by-wire (FBW) which is based on a stall warning and barrier mechanism which prevents stalls through dramatic increases of control stick pressure

Mirage-2000

  • Mirage-2000 is single-seater air defence and multi-role fighter of French origin.
  • It is powered by a single-engine that has a max speed of 2495 km/hr.
  • It carries two R-550 magic II close combat missiles on external stations and two 30 mm integral cannons and two matra super 530D medium-range.
  • The jet has a height of 5.2m, weight 21,000LB, Mirage 2000D. This two-seater designed for all-weather nuclear penetration at low altitude.
  • The Mirage 2000 is equipped with built-in twin DEFA 554 autocannon 30 mm revolver-type cannons with 125 rounds each. These cannons have fire rates of 1,200 or 1,800 rounds per minute.

MiG-29
MiG-29

  • MiG-29 is a twin-engine and single-seater air superiority fighter aircraft with Russian origin capable of attaining max. speed of 2445 km per hour.
  • This jet has a weight of 4.73m with 14,900kg normal take-off weight.
  • The MiG-29 has hydraulic controls and an SAU-451 three-axis autopilot.
  • It is manufactured by RSK MiG and the Irkutsk Aircraft Production Association Joint Stock Company.
  • India was the first international customer of the MiG-29 and in 1980, IAF placed an order for more than 66 MiG-29s.
  • The fighter has a combat ceiling of 17 km and carries a 30 mm cannon along with four R-60 close combat.

MiG-21 BISON
MiG-21 BISON

  • MiG-21 BISON is a single-engine, single-seater multirole fighter aircraft of Russian origin. It is known as the backbone of the IAF.
  • MiG-21 Bison is one of India’s six fighter jets and was first inducted in 1963 into the IAF.
  • It was initially developed as an interceptor but was later upgraded to perform other functions of a combat aircraft.
  • This has a max speed of 2230 km/hr and carries one 23mm twin-barrel cannon with four R-60 close combat missiles.
  • The MiG-21 uses a tricycle type undercarriage and the MiG-21F is the only jet fighter that uses tires with the size 660×200 mm.

Jaguar

  • Fighter jet, Jaguar is a twin-engine, single-seater deep penetration strike aircraft with a max. speed of 1350 km /hr.
  • The aircraft was manufactured by SEPECAT and has two 30mm guns and can carry two R-350 Magic CCMs.
  • It is an Anglo-French aircraft originally used by the British Royal Air Force and the French Air Force.
  • The jet has a light ground attack capability with supersonic performance, reconnaissance and tactical nuclear strike roles.
  • The aircraft has served with the French Air Force as the main strike until 1 July 2005 and with the Royal Air Force until the end of April 2007.
