Finance minister to address the Parliament, not PM
Days after demonetization move, Opposition leaders have been demanding PM Modi be present in Parliament while saying they will discuss the treaty only in parliament with the government.
The opposition has been disrupting parliament since the winter session started last week over the demonetization issue. The opposition says PM must address both houses to explain his move of demonetization.
PM was although present in Lok Sabha yesterday, but he has not agreed yet. Sources said, he could have attended Rajya Sabha today, but he was not present in the house.
Rajnath Singh, Home minister of India has asked opposition parties to meet him this morning to consider the contours of a compromise.
