Our former PM Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away at 93 on 16th August 2018, at 5:05 pm at AIIMS, New Delhi. The sad demise of the honorable Mr. Vajpayee after a long nine weeks treatment and admission at AIIMS for lung and kidney infection has left the entire nation in grievance. He was conferred India’s highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna, in 2015. It was due to his support and approval that India conducted its first nuclear test in 1998 and in 1999 began the direct bus service between New Delhi, India and Lahore, Pakistan, a peace maintaining initiative between the two nations. His statesmanship is admired and his birthday, ‘December 25’, is celebrated as ‘Good Governance Day’ every year.
