Gadchiroli Naxal attack Live Updates: 16 C-60 QR Team Police Personnel killed
Gadchiroli Naxal attack Live Updates – 15 Jawans of Gadchiroli C-60 force Quick Relief Team and a driver were killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in north Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. This is the fourth Maoist attack in Gadchiroli, since the Lok Sabha elections began in April 2019.
This incident took place on 1st May 2019 around 12.30 pm in which the IED blast was set off in a private vehicle when a team of the C-60 Jawans of the Gadchiroli police was on its way to inspect a fleet of vehicles set on fire by Maoists. Most of the 27 construction machines and vehicles burnt in the attack belonged to Amar Infrastructures Ltd.
Maoists chose a day for the blast when Maharashtra is celebrating its foundation day.

Prime Minister Modi has condemned the attack being “despicable” and said that the “perpetrators of such violence will not be spared”. PM Modi tweeted saluting all the Jawans who lost their life in the Gadchiroli attack “Strongly condemn the despicable attack on our security personnel in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. I salute all the brave personnel. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten. My thoughts & solidarity are with the bereaved families. The perpetrators of such violence will not be spared.”

Amit Shah also shared his pain and tweeted, “Anguished to learn about the cowardly attack on our security personnel in the Gadchiroli area of Maharashtra. Loss of life of these brave soldiers is an irreparable loss. Their sacrifices will not go in vain. My deepest condolences with the bereaved families.”

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis shared his grief at Naxal attack and tweeted “I strongly condemn this attack and we will fight this menace with even more and stronger efforts. I also spoke to Hon Union Home Minister @rajnathsingh ji and briefed him about the situation in Maharashtra.”
