Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is widely regarded as the Indian Football team’s best player. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu was born on 3 February 1992 and is currently 27 years old. Sandhu was named as the captain of the India national team for the friendly match against Puerto Rico on 3 September where team India won the match with 4 goals to 1. Gurpreet plays for Bengaluru FC and has won the ISL once.

At the end of the match, Qatar head coach Felix Sanchez acknowledged that Sandhu was the best player on the pitch and hailed the Indian stopper for stealing what seemed like a guaranteed three points before the game. He congratulated the Indian team for keeping the clean sheet and lauded the towering goalkeeper for being the best player on the pitch in the 90 minutes that were played.
