Once you get caught by the demon of “Cough and Cold”, there’s no quick respite. Even antibiotics will take a minimum of 4/5 days to work. For quick and immediate relief from Cough and cold, the best is to go Natural. Giving below some of the natural home remedies for cough and cold :

Ginger and Honey

Ginger and Honey

Mix 2 teaspoons of honey with ginger juice. This will help expectorate mucus and is very effective for common cold, cough and sore throat.

Dates and Milk

Dates and Milk
Boil 6/7 dates (without seed) in half a liter milk for about 20 minutes over low heat. Drink this through the day and before going to bed at night. This drink is very soothing and effective.

Warm water with Honey and Lemon

Squeeze half a lemon in one glass of warm water. Add one teaspoon of honey. This will immediately soothe your sore throat and reduce the cough.

Black Pepper and Honey

Black Pepper and Honey

Add warm water to the freshly ground 1 teaspoon of black pepper and honey. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, stir and drink. This will loosen the mucus which will get out naturally through your nose. Sometimes I just put some black pepper on a spoonful of honey and eat it just like that. Tastes amazing. No doubt about the benefit in this form also.

Add salt to the warm water and gargle atleast 2-3 times a day. To increase its effectiveness, add little turmeric. Don’t forget to blow your nose right after the gargles.
