Remedies for chapped lips: Get rid of dry lips-
Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer and can be used to moisturize and dry parts of the body including chapped lips. You can simply apply it several times in a day to keep them moist. You can also use olive oil or glycerine as substitutes.
Water is the solution to most problems in our body and so also heals chapped lips which is caused due to dehydration in most cases. Although consuming 8-10 glasses of water a day is recommended, you can count the liquids taken in any form in this. You will have to put in little extra efforts during winters, as during summers everyone anyways drink water often.
HONEY & SUGAR/LEMON JUICE
You can mix two teaspoons of sugar with one teaspoon of honey and rub the mixture gently on your lips for 2-3 minute. This loosens dead skin cells. You can then wash it off with lukewarm water. You can use lemon juice instead of sugar.
GREEN TEA BAGS
This can simply be used by patting the used wet green tea bag on your lips till the time you are waiting for the green tea to cool down for a while.
Take a scoop of aloevera gel from its leaf and just apply it on your lips overnight. Also a slice of cucumber can help, gently rub the slice of cucumber on your lips for 2-3 minutes, then leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with water.
EXFOLIATE THE LIPS
Chapped lips are covered with a layer of dry skin which can prevent healing. Using lip scrubs that contain sugar or baking soda can help in exfoliating away this dry skin.
ROSE HIP OIL
Rosehip oil contain vitamin E and helps in nourishing the skin. This oil also help to retain the natural color of your lips. Apply rose hip oil on your lips and leave it overnight.
Cocoa butter or shea butter contain fatty acids that condition, moisturize, and protect dehydrated skin. You can apply organic cocoa butter or shea butter or yogurt or buttermilk on your lips.
