Tips for Running – Cautions and Precautions

The first thing comes to mind when someone realizes finally it’s time to exercise is “Running”. Probably because everyone thinks that running is something that even a jack of all trades can master. If you are also one of them, then you are mistaken greatly. Do you really want to benefit and not end up getting hurt, there are certain important things to consider before you start “Running”.

Do not even think about saving money here. Invest in a good “Running” shoe from a reputed brand. Don’t go by what a sales person says but do your own research before going out to buy. Make sure it fits just perfect. A bad shoe may result in more harm than good.

Choose the right surface

Running on the correct surface is one of the most important aspects of “Running”. If you have a correct “Jogging track” in a park in your area, it’s the best. If not, then treadmill will be the next best option. Avoid running on concrete road or park with an uneven surface, else you may end up hurting your joints.

Once you are ready with your perfect running shoes, do some warm up before you actually start running. Warm-up of about 10 minutes is good enough to start with. You will easily find warm up exercise videos on Youtube.

It’s important to stay hydrated while you are exercising. Take small sips at regular intervals. Drink even if you don’t feel thirsty.This will save your legs from cramping and you from dehydrating.

After running

After running

At the end of running, walk slowly for a few minutes and do some stretches. Stretching is as important as “warm up”. You can again depend on Youtube for some simple stretching exercises.
