juReady to sweat? Not so soon! Keep in mind that you should always eat proper food before the power workout to fuel up your body for an exhaustive session! Yes, you heard it right! Empty stomach workout is never a good idea, you need adequate energy for putting your best foot forward!
Being a fitness lover, here’s my list of foods that I prefer to eat before a heavy workout to make it more effective!
Banana
Rich in fast-acting carbs, bananas are the ideal fruit to take before the work-out session. This potassium-rich fruit will also aid in maintaining muscles and will keep up the nerve function.
Caffeine
Caffeine, not only fasten up the fat-burning process but also gives you boost of energy killing the fatigue. Drink a warm cup of black coffee just before hitting the gym for maximum effectiveness!
Smoothies
Protein-rich fruit smoothies packed with the goodness of fruits, nuts, yoghurt, and honey is an awesome pre-workout meal. Since it has a mix of simple and complex carbs, it will keep you full on energy level throughout the workout session.
Greek Yoghurt with fresh fruits
Greek yogurt has double amount of protein as compared to the normal everyday yogurt. A combination of this and fresh fruits make a wholesome pre-workout meal. The protein content will help in tightening the muscles and carbs will help in keeping you energized.
Oatmeal with fresh fruits
Extremely rich in the fiber content, oats will provide you a kick of energy that is a must-need during an exhaustive workout session. They will also help in keeping the energy level consistent during the work. And if you don’t like the traditional oatmeal bowl, you can also try out various overnight oatmeal recipes.
Whole grain bread
Two slices of whole grain bread with peanut butter or almond butter makes up a great pre-workout meal. The good carbs in whole grain bread will fuel your body with adequate energy. You can also pair it up with hard-boiled egg to further enhance the energy level!
