Heavy rainfall in Mumbai has caused flooding on train tracks causing Local trains to run 15 minutes late on early Friday.
Local train services, the lifeline of Mumbai, were hit because of flooding near Sion-Kurla on the Central line, which caused delays on the other lines as well.
Apart from Railway tracks, roads too were flooded causing traffic jams during peak office hours. Domestic and international flights to and from Mumbai were delayed by about 30 minutes because of rain, low visibility, and air congestion, officials said.
The weather office has forecast very heavy rain in Mumbai and the coastal Konkan region over the next 48 hours and all major services like the police, fire brigade and the National Disaster Response Force or NDRF are on high alert
Residents from Mumbai have been sharing pictures on Social media since then.
