The last wicket partnership soared to 66 runs between the two, with Ongondo scoring 36 off 42 deliveries including 2 fours and 1 six. With his wicket, Kenya fell for 192. Although West Indies chased the target easily, Ongondo’s innings was one to remember.

Batting first, India managed to mount a massive total of 262 at the loss of 8 wickets with the help of Yashpal Sharma’s 89. Joel Garner joined Andy Roberts at the other end. Both of them kept rotating the strike, trying to run their way to the target. The partnership soared to 71 runs with Joel Garner scoring 37 off 29 balls including 1 six. He was stumped out by Kirmani at the bowling of Ravi Shastri. India won by 34 runs.

South Africa was down to 119 for 9 against New Zealand in the sixth match of their bilateral ODI series, owing to their awful batting display. Makhaya Ntini was the last man in. He joined Albie Morkel at the other end. Much different than his teammates, Ntini showed some intent with the bat, and runs started coming off the last wicket partnership. Ntini scored a 35-ball 42 including 3 fours and 2 sixes in a phenomenal knock. Both the batsmen remained unbeaten at the end of 50 overs. Ntini was 42 not out while Morkel was 23 not out. Together, they stitched a decent enough total of 186 runs for 9 for the Proteas.

2- Shoaib Akhtar – Pakistan (43 off 16)

Pakistani legend Shoaib Akhtar is known for his bullet speed bowling. He scored a fantastic 43 off just 16 deliveries against England in the 2003 World Cup at Cape Town. England posted a total of 246 runs batting first, owing to Michael Vaughan’s 52 and Paul Collingwood’s 66. Pakistan yielded under the pressure as a horrendous batting display of the top order batsmen reduced them to a paltry 80 for 9. Shoaib Akhtar was the last man to walk in. He joined Saqlain Mushtaq. The Rawalpindi Express came with an intent to score as he smashed 5 fours and 3 sixes and took the total to 134 runs before being dismissed by Flintoff. England won by 112 runs.

He scored 58 off just 28 deliveries on August 30, 2016, against England. Pakistan was touring England for a bilateral ODI series. England posted a mammoth total of 444 for 3 in 50 overs, making a record for the highest score in an ODI match. Pakistan on their way to the humongous target were reduced to 199/9. They were looking at a 200 run plus defeat but Amir saved their face with his cameo. Striking the ball in every direction, Amir hit 5 fours and 4 sixes on his way to his ODI fifty. The last wicket partnership soared to 76 runs and Pakistan was able to reduce the deficit to some extent before losing the match.
