  • Mumbai’s famous Lalbaugcha Raja announced not to keep Lord Ganesh idol in Ganeshotsav this year but to set up a blood and plasma donation camp in the place of Lord Ganesh idol for 11 days.
  • Mumbai’s Lalbaughcha Raja Ganeshotsav Mandal decided not to organize Ganeshotsav in 2020.
  • The Raja of Lalbagh was established in the year 1934 and since then Ganeshotsav is celebrated here. The statue of Raja of Lalbagh is about 14 feet high every year, which is the biggest attraction of the Ganesh festival in Mumbai. Every year millions of devotees from all over the world have been visiting the pandal to seek blessings of Lord Ganesha.
  • This is first time ever in the history of Lalbaugcha Raja that the Ganeshotsav will not be celebrated to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB)

  • Radha Soami Satsang Beas in Chhatarpur (South Delhi) is the biggest Covid-19 temporary centre in India with over 10,000 beds, 18k tonnes of ACs.
  • As of April 16, the RSSB distributed 12 lakh packed meals every day for needy through its 250 plus centres in India.
  • The meals are prepared with the utmost care, sanitation, and hygiene including social distancing.
  • Even the volunteers involved in preparing and serving meals are medically examined and wear face masks, gloves, and headcovers.
  • Radha Soami Satsang Beas is an organization dedicated to inner development under the guidance of a spiritual teacher. It was founded in 1891.

Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust

  • Till now, the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi donated Rs. 51 crores to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in Maharashtra.
  • The Trust is also providing free food to all patients and their relatives at the Shri Sainath Hospital, Shirdi Orphanages, a school for deaf and dumb, old age homes, needy, police personnel and others.
  • Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust controls and manages the day-to-day activities at the Shri Saibaba Samadhi Temple.
  • The Trust also runs Schools and Colleges, Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Water Supply, Hospitals.

  • Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee offered a sarai (inn) at the Gurudwara Majnu ka Tilla for setting up a quarantine facility.
  • The sarai has 20 rooms with modern facilities, attached toilets, air-conditioners and separate rooms for nurses and doctors.
  • The gurdwara also provide langar (free food) for every patient admitted for treatment or quarantine.

Ambaji Mandir, Gujarat

Ambaji Mandir

  • Ambaji Mandir in Gujarat also donated Rs. 1 crore and one lakh to the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
  • The Temple Trust is also distributing food packets among poor people.
  • The Trust has developed a parikrama way circulating the Gabbar hill, and on this Parikrama Marg, 51 Shaktipeeth temples are constructed. One can get darshan of all 51 Shaktipeeths by doing Parikrama of Gabbar hill.
