ICC Rankings 2019 News – The Indian captain, Virat Kohli along with Rohit Sharma are going to end their ICC ODI batsmen’s rankings 2019 on a high note. Recently, Rohit brilliantly performed in India’s three-match one-day series against the West Indies. On Sunday, Rohit Sharma broke Sanath Jayasuriya’s 22-year-old record of scoring the highest score in a single calendar year as the opener in all formats. Skipper Virat Kohli also scored the highest number of runs in 2019. Kohli scored 2455 runs this year in all formats. With his 85 runs, India defeated West Indies by four wickets in the deciding third ODI on Sunday.

Before playing in the third and the final ODI against the West Indies, Rohit was only nine runs behind the former Sri Lankan player who recorded 2387 runs in the calendar year in 1997. This Mumbai player scored 2442 runs this year when he scored 63 runs at Barabati Stadium. Rohit also scored five centuries in the World Cup this year. Apart from these two, Lokesh Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have also improved their batting rankings. Shreyas Iyer scored his fifty in the first and in the second ODI against the West Indies.

Rahul-Iyer’s big leap. Opener Lokesh Rahul, who scored 185 runs in the series, reached the 71st position, improving his ranking by 17 places. Iyer scored 130 runs in the series, bringing himself to 81st from 104th. West Indies opener Shai Hope is also in the top 10. In the first ODI between India and West Indies played in Chennai, he scored 102 runs. And in the series, he scored a total of 218 runs which also included an unbeaten century, which gave him five places in the rankings and helped him in reaching to the ninth position.

ICC Rankings 2019 News – Shimron Hetmyer was on 19th and jumped to the sixth place while Nicholas Pooran who was earlier on the 33rd place has also jumped up.
