Inderjeet Singh, Rio Olympics-Bound Shotputter, Fails Dope Test
Rio Olympics- Bound Shotputter, Inderjeet Singh (28), has been found positive in Dope test for banned substances Androsterone and etiocholanolone. Before Inderjeet singh it was reported that wrestler Narsingh Yadav too failed a dope test with less than two weeks to go for the August 5-21 Games.
The shotputter told an Indian news channel that it is a case of conspiracy against him. He said “I have been framed because I am outspoken. This is a conspiracy against me”.
National Anti-Doping Agency has asked Inderjeet, if he wants to test his ‘B’ samples, if so, it has to be done within 7 days. If the tests came out to be positive he will have to miss Rio Olympics beginning, also he may be banned for four years under the New WADA code.
He is a gold-medalist in the Asian championships, Asian Grand Prix and the World University Games last year.
“For the last year and a half, I am facing difficulties. The intention is to suppress me, which is going on till now. But I know the country is with me,” Inderjeet said.
