  • Goldman Sachs is in talks to acquire a stake in Royal Sundaram General Insurance, who has been in the market to sell a significant minority stake to help fund the business growth.


  • Amazon India is planning to continue investing heavily in the business and introducing more local innovations for Indian customers.

  • GTL Infrastructure Ltd has filed a fresh intervention application with NCLT to recover operational dues of Rs.500 crore and contractual claims of over Rs.12,000 crore from Aircel, which had filed for bankruptcy on 22nd February.

  • Jet Airways is planning to make Guwahati regional gateway from the north eastern region for connecting more flights to various other cities.

  • The Park Hotels has launched a new luxury hotel in North Goa, which will serve only guests above 18 years.

  • Microsoft Corp. has inaugurated the first “Garage” in India to offer a platform to its employees for working on products and solutions based new-age technologies like Internet of Things, robotics, and quantum computing. It is Microsoft’s second largest such unit globally, first being its headquarters in Redmond, US.

  • Universal Sportsbiz Pvt. Ltd (USPL), a Fashion start-up, has raised Rs30 crore in a new funding round from Alteria Capital. USPL’s brands are sold at over 200 retail touch points across 34 cities in India.

  • Xiaomi Corp. has said that it will invest Rs6,000-7,000 crore in around 100 Indian startups over the next five years to strengthen its hardware and software ecosystem.

  • Ahead of the start of IPL, Star India is at loggerheads with Airtel Digital TV and Dish TV over subscription fee hike, with the broadcaster threatening to disconnect its channels.

  • KKR, the US private equity giant, is in talks to invest around Rs 500 crore to fund clean energy company Leap Green, founded by members of the family of Narain Karthikeyan, the Formula One racer.
