India and Russia expected to Sign Air defence deal
India and Russia are expected to Sign a deal for the delivery of an advanced air defence system in Delhi on Saturday.
The agreement is said to be signed in BRICS summit in Goa today, where Narendra Modi will hold talks with Vladimir Putin.
Russian Diplomat Mr Ushakov said, “An agreement on the delivery of S-400 ‘Triumph’ anti-missile defence systems and other deals will be signed as a result of the talks”.
The S-400 missiles are Moscow’s most sophisticated aircraft defence system. These air missiles have been positioned to Syria, where Russian forces have been operating in support of the Government of President, Bashar Al- Assad.
The relationship between India and Russia has become more complex, although they were close allies during Cold War.
