The entertaining test series between two of the biggest giants of the sub-continent comes to an end tomorrow when both the teams square off against each other for one last final time in the longest format of the game this season. Commencing early morning tomorrow, the heart of India sees India take on Sri Lanka in the third test match of the series. Leading 1-0, India will be looking to put on another terrific performance and take home the series at the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium in Delhi.

Having thrashed Sri Lanka by an innings and 239 runs in the second Test to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, India go into the third match in high spirits. Confidence runs high among the Indian camp who know that they are levels above the current Sri Lankan squad and can easily wrap up the third test and win the series 2-0. Motivation to win the match is more so given that Virat Kohli’s men are one win away from equalling a world record. Victory in the New Delhi Test would cap a dominant year and equal Australia’s record of nine successive series victories from 2005 to 2008. Sitting pretty on top of the test rankings, this record would be another feather in the cap of India and prove once again India’s dominance in tests.

Kohli said that the last test match is also been seen as preparation for the upcoming series against South Africa which will arguably be India’s biggest test in quite some time. “That’s why we asked for pitches with help for the fast bowlers.”There’s not enough time in between to prepare so we have to use the time we have now for a big tour coming up.”

“I think they (fast bowlers) have evolved immensely,” said Rohit Sharma, who will lead India in the three one-day matches against Sri Lanka when Kohli is rested.”They have come of age.”

Expect the third match to be another excellent performance by the Indian team. The match starts 9:30 am IST and can be watched live on Star Sports 1 and Star Sports Hindi and can be streamed online on Hotstar.
