Dhawan didn’t look scratchy like he did in Mumbai. He was up to the task and took on the Aussie bowlers to get along his knock nicely. The Delhi duo shared a fantastic stand of 103 runs which powered India to score a total of more than 300 runs.
But when all things looked set, Dhawan was caught by Starc off Kane Richardson’s bowling. When Dhawan was batting on 96, he could not keep the short and wide ball down. He hit that ball straight to Starc who didn’t drop the catch. Dhawan missed his well-deserved ton by just 4 runs. Gabbar departed after playing a brilliant knock of 96 runs.
India vs Australia 2nd ODI Highlights 2020 – Shreyas Iyer was the potential number 4 for India in the limited-overs format. Previously, he has done well in that position but yesterday, he failed to contribute. Iyer was clean bowled by Zampa for just 7 runs.
India gathered some momentum again when KL Rahul and Skipper Kohli struck a fluent partnership. This stand of 78 runs allowed Rahul to be in his full flow. It looked like this partnership will see off through the 300 run mark. But Adam Zampa struck again, this time with a huge scalp of Virat Kohli.

Then, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne steadied the innings with a huge stand. Australia was in the game because of these two. Even though the run rate kept on increasing, but Smith and Labuschagne scored some timely boundaries to ease off that pressure.
This partnership of 96 runs kept the Indian bowlers at bay. Labuschagne played in India for the first time but it never looked like that. He got used to the conditions so quickly that it was just hard to believe. As the asking run rate went up, Australia lost their wickets quickly.
The debut inning from Labuschagne ended when he tried to loft the ball. But, it fell straight to Shami. Jadeja was the man to get the breakthrough for India again. Then, it was Kuldeep’s magic that struck a big blow to Australia.

It was a mere formality that India completed by picking the wickets of the lower order batsmen after Smith. It was too tough for the lower order to chase down the total all by themselves and especially when Steve Smith was dismissed.
