India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2020 highlights – India came from a disappointing 10 wicket loss in Mumbai to a courageous performance in Rajkot. This allowed the home team to level the series. But in a series decider at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru yesterday, India put a clinical performance and won the series by a 2-1 margin.
Australia wasn’t equally up to the task despite a magical hundred from Steve Smith. Their batsmen didn’t show the class like Warner and Finch did in Mumbai. Both the openers failed yet again after the second one-day international match in Rajkot.
Steve Smith missed his well deserved century by just two runs in Rajkot. But in Bengaluru, he stepped up and got to his 9th One Day International ton. This was needed for Smith as earlier he ran out his skipper Aaron Finch due to a misunderstanding in running between the wickets.
Australia won the toss for the third time in this series and elected to bat first in this final encounter. Warner and Finch looked scratchy once again just like they did in Rajkot. Shami was the man who picked up Warner early in the game for just three runs.

Finch and Smith looked to rebuild the innings for Australia but the Aussies were struck again. Their skipper Finch was run-out. It was clearly the mistake of Steve Smith who called Finch to take a run and then sent him back when Finch was halfway down the pitch. Due to this confusion both the batsmen came at the same end and in the end, it was an easy runout chance which Jadeja, Iyer, and Shami didn’t miss.
After both the openers were dismissed early, Australia needed a partnership that could stabilize their innings. Steve Smith and his partner Marnus Labbuschagne shared a vital stand for the visitors. And even though this pitch offered some turn, both these batsmen played Jadeja and Kuldeep well. They shared a partnership that again threatened India to take the game away from them.

Smith and Labuschagne shared a partnership of 127 runs. But when Labuschagne reached his maiden ODI fifty, he didn’t convert that start as Steve Smith did. Labuschagne was dismissed quickly after reaching his personal milestone. Marnus was out for 54 runs and thus a huge stand was also broken.
India vs Australia 3rd ODI 2020 highlights – Mitchell Starc was promoted to number 5 in this match. But his batting promotion didn’t work and in the end, this may be the reason why he bowled some way worth lines when Australia tried to defend the total. Mich Starc faced just 3 balls for his golden duck.
Alex Carey and Steve Smith took Australia beyond the 231 run mark. They shared a stand of 58 runs which allowed them to put up a decent score on the board. But once again, Carey was dismissed for 35 runs. The lower order failed to put their hands with Steve Smith who batted brilliantly at the other end.
Ashton Turner was out for just 4 runs, while Pat Cummins scored his second golden duck in this series. Zampa was also dismissed for just 1 run. It was Steve Smith’s 9th ODI hundred which propelled Australia above the 280 run mark. But he also couldn’t stay till the end and was dismissed after scoring well made 131 runs.
Ashton Agar scored an unbeaten 11 runs and Josh Hazlewood was not out on 1 run. This allowed Australia to end their innings on 286 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted quota of 50 overs.
